Horace Gordon is the sole shareholder of Gordon & Associates, P.A., CPAs, a local public accounting and consulting firm. He is also the sole shareholder and the registered principal of Gordon & Associates Financial Advisors, Inc. a fee-only personal financial planning and wealth management firm. Both firms are based in Tampa, Florida. Horace specializes in financial planning, small business consulting, and tax planning and compliance for individuals and businesses. After receiving his BS in Accounting from the University of Florida, Horace began his professional career with KPMG Peat Marwick in the tax department of the Tampa office. After several years with KPMG, Horace joined with several KPMG alumni in building a successful Clearwater-based local accounting firm.

In 1995, Horace formed Gordon & Associates, P.A., CPAs, which now specializes in business advisory services, and traditional tax and accounting services. In 1998, Horace formed Gordon & Associates Financial Advisors, Inc. to hold the financial planning and investment advisory services (collectively referred to as wealth management) practice. Gordon & Associates, P.A., CPAs is a member of the Private Companies Practice Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Gordon & Associates Financial Advisors, Inc. is a Registered Investment Adviser – registered with the State of Florida Division of Securities.

Professionally, Horace is a member of the AICPA (including the Personal Financial Planning, Tax, and Information Technology Sections), the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) for which he has served as a member of the statewide Personal Financial Planning Committee, and the Financial Planning Association (FPA).

Horace is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) licensee, and has also received the PFS (Personal Financial Specialist) designation from the AICPA. This designation is available only to CPAs who pass an AICPA-administered exam, meet certain financial planning experience requirements, and agree to meet certain continuing education requirements in the areas of financial planning in the future.

Horace has been accepted as an expert witness in both Family Law and Unemployment Compensation courts. He has testified as an expert witness in a variety of cases.

In the community, Horace is a past-President and Treasurer of The Downtown Corps, a past ex-officio Board Member of the Tampa Downtown Partnership, has served on both his church and the church’s parochial school finance committees, and is a member of the University of Florida Alumni Association and the Tampa Gator Club.

Most importantly, Horace is the husband of Dawn and the father of Rachel Marie Gordon and Horace C. Gordon, V (Quint).
